Tuesday 20th June 2023 Lo: to identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes & conventions! GENRE-music Codes & Conventions - different types of artists -bold colours (red,black,blue,green,yellow,grey) -the bands name - all of them except from the Rick Astley magazine have the word "Rock" on it SUB-GENRE music sub-genre rock pop heavy metal country Rave R&B Soul rock-opera glam-rock camp theatrics Jazz Blues they use different famous rock bands on the front covers different bold colours (blue,red,black,pink) they have added guitars in some of the magazines most are from the 70s-80s they all have big hairstyles to show its rock some are using the rock hand different fonts What sort of colour palette do they use? one of the pictures are bright were as the other two are either bold colours or just black and white with a little bit of colour What does their Main Images usually show? a close up of someones face

Thursday 15th June 2023 L/O: To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes & Masthead: The title of the magazine find this at the top of the front cover Dateline: the date you will find this next to the Issue no. small above the Title of the magazine. monthly magazine magazine usually hits the news-stands the month before the cover date Main image: covering the whole magazine to make it interesting for the reader Coverlines: usually found on the right side of the magazine to make it the reader understand whats in the magazine main cover line : bolder writing on the left hand side promotes what the main feature will be. it usually coincides with the main image bar code/price: its at the bottom of the page on the back so that the person who wants to buy it knows how much it would cost and the bar code is for the shop worker to scan it. standard bar code used by retailers,displayed on UK magazines since 1988. will often include publication dateli
