 how far do the two music videos reinforce gender stereotypes? The first music video is by Taylor Swift called 'The man' In the song, Taylor Swift imagines how her life would be different if she were a man. Presenting a hypermasculine persona which highlights privileges and behaviors often associated with men, while also criticizing the standards women face in society. The song/music video show how men might be seen as "fearless leaders" which whom benefit from social expectations that are sometimes not applied to women. For example, the "man" character in the video is shown being rewarded for his behavior, even though it's disrespectful or harmful. The second music video is by Stormzy called Superheroes, The lyrics are meant to encouragement to "young black kings" and "young black queens" to realise their power and potential.

 Homework Friday 7th February 2025 Introduction Steve Neale's Genre theory is that "Genre's all contain instances of repetition and difference" Neale argues that the film and its genre are defined by two things: how much it conforms to its  genre's individual conventions and stereotypes  how much it differs from them Genres change over time because of the publics point of view and social interests, how technology improves, for example In The Sweeney, they would have each episode different crime as they didn't have many tv channels at the time so if you missed one episode you wouldn't be lost when watching the next episode, where as now In Luther the crimes and storyline goes through the series but if you miss an episode you can always watch it on catch up or record.
